The kids were really looking forward to Halloween this year - we had talked about costumes for weeks and had made plans with our friends, The Wyatt's to go trick-or-treating on 1st Avenue like last year. Well, because of Hurricane Sandy, the power in our neighborhood was still not restored by Halloween so we needed a new plan. (plus Ryan was kind of freaking out that "Halloween is going to be canceled - this is the worst!") Because Michael and Jasmine's whole street had power, we decided to trick or treat there and the kids thought it was great!

I thought one or both of the boys would complain that they didn't want to walk but not once did I hear "Mommy, my legs are falling off" lol. Matter of fact, the kids pretty much ran from one house to another with a girl that lived down the street and every house had someone there to give out candy!
On more than one occasion, I heard Dylan say "You know what they gave us at the last house?" Because he would get in to conversations with a lot of the people, he ended up falling behind so as he ran to catch up, he would yell "Wait for me, there is another kid, trick or treat" haha
I didn't even take that many pictures because every time we would catch up to the kids, they would be off running again.
Ryan ended up getting quite the stash of candy which he excitedly laid out on the table and spent about 30 minutes counting them, then sorting by type and recounting.
Dylan ended up with much less because he ate (or tried to eat) at least one candy between each house and he did not want to go trick-or-treating after Michael's street.
Ryan wanted to keep going though so after dinner, Aunt Carrie joined us in visiting a few other houses (we were the only trick-or-treaters in sight) and making a stop at the town Community Center for a Halloween Party.
We ended up having a great Halloween and are really thankful to everyone that made it special for the kids! Ryan has already said that he wants to go to Mike and Jasmine's house for Halloween next year
