The boys have loved making their monthly Home Depot projects and this month, their friends, Ben and Alice, joined us to make flower pot holders. 

Then we celebrated a wonderful Mother's Day in the city - you can read about that here

I had a date night with the boys - I love hanging out with them!!!!

The boys attend their first Lego Club meeting at the Lego Store and had an amazing time!!! This was their reward for good behavior this month and they have asked if this could be their reward every month.  This month's them was Star Wars.

We spent a great weekend in Atlantic City for Memorial Day which you can read about here

And we made our third attempt in two years to view Manhattenhenge - it started pouring on our way there so we stopped for some ice cream first.   Luckily, the rain cleared and we were able to get a pretty nice view but I think we will try again in July to get an even better view.

April

Finally, the weather has started to get better and we are filling our weekends with fun stuff!

 

April marked the beginnng of baseball season for the boys: this is Ryan's third year but first year out of teeball - he has moved up to the 7's and will be on the Cardinals - and this is Dylan's first year of teeball and he will be on the Yankees!   To kick off the season, we participated in the Annual PSLL parade around the neighborhood and made signs to represent our teams



April was also a big month for Union College as they won the Division 1 National Championships for hockey for the first time in the school's history.   It was really exciting and we definitely all got in the spirit.

The boys had some time off from school so we took them to Legoland Discovery Center one day and spent some time in Central Park another day .

We celebrated Easter at Omi and Poppy's

We ended the month celebrating Brian and Maria's wedding

March

March started off with two birthdays - Papa's on the 3rd and Dylan's on the 15th. 

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day

The boys attended their first Home Depot Kids Workshop 

We had lots of family fun in the city

and Jay and I finally took our 10th anniversary trip!!!  4 wonderful days in the Bahamas!!!!

In early February, we took a trip to Camelback Mountain again for some tubing and we had a great time - much colder this year than last year though.

During the boy's school break, we took a roadtrip with Grandma to visit Erika, Richie, Ava and Ella.

We also had lots of family fun

On family fun nights, we played lots of hoard games, Simpson's Clue being the favorite

and Ryan gave a wonderful performance during his school concert and looked SUPER handsome doing it!!

Instagram in the City - January 2014

  Sometimes it is so challenging to keep up with this blog but I really love having these memories to look back on - hard to believe that I started documenting our life 6 years ago!!  Technology is so different from when I started that the blog doesn't really serve the initial purpose anymore - I started the blog to keep everyone up to date on Ryan's life as a toddler in the city.   Then Dylan came and so did Facebook, Instagram, and Iphone photo stream - family and friends can now get pictures and stories instantly and unless they want the full story, really don't need to read the blog anymore to be in the loop.    I still love though looking back, reminiscing on all of the fun times we have had and remembering the little details I have forgotten.   There have already been a bunch of fun things we have done in 2014 and it is only February so for those of you still reading:  Thanks for sharing our memories!

We facetimed with Ava and Ella a lot, visited the dentist and even started helping around the house.

Spent some time on SuperBowl Boulevard enjoying the benefits of NY hosting their 1st ever SuperBowl

Had LOTS of SNOW



And most importantly, we had fun with friends (at our Skylanders get together)

and with each other

Spent the day hanging out with Papa

Took our first family hike on Anthony's Nose (overlooking the Bear Mountain Bridge)

Spent a fun day with Mom and Jasmine (we missed you Erika)

Made a "Give Thanks" tree to learn about Thanksgiving although one of the days, Dylan was thankful for soup so I am not quite sure the lesson sunk in.

Said goodbye to some of our best friends, the Wyatt Family, before they left on their new adventure, their move to Tennesse.  (Jack was Ryan's first school friend)

And in my mind, the end of November marks the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year - Christmas Season!
